  • Senior Director of Merchandising Strategy & Planning at Reformation

    Reformation

Who We Are: Being naked is the #1 most sustainable option. We’re #2. Since 2009, we’ve been on a mission to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. Named one of Fast Company’s Brands That Matter and winning a Best Carbon Footprint award, we have big goals like being Climate Positive by 2025, Circular by 2030,and pushing the whole industry forward along the way.Our work has gotten love in Drapers and Sourcing Journal, and TIME wrote about how great our CEO, Hali Borenstein, is. Basically, we’re saving the Earth and looking damn good doing it. We’re a global brand with 50+ stores (and counting) around the world, and our own sustainable factory in LA. We innovate across categories like accessories, swimwear, and sleepwear, and we reach millions of people with campaigns like this, this and this. None of this work is possible without the incredible people behind it. We’re a mission-based company that invests in an inclusive culture, so we can innovate together and ensure everyone has the space to grow, thrive, and belong. And starting right now, we want to do all that with you. Work Location/ Schedule: Hybrid from Los Angeles HQ Job Title: Senior Director, Merchandising Strategy & Planning As the Senior Director, Merchandising Strategy & Planning, you will lead one of the most strategic functions within Reformation’s Merchandising organization—owning how we plan, invest in, and scale our assortments end to end across every channel. Working in close partnership with Merchandising and Buying, you are responsible for translating merchandise strategy into clear, data-informed assortment, investment, and financial plans that drive both growth and margin. This role sits at the intersection of brand vision, product strategy, and financial planning. You will own the investment framework behind the assortment and the in-season reads that turn it into action—guiding decisions around assortment structure, buy-type investment, receipt placement, full-price selling, markdown, and risk allocation. You’ll ensure we are putting the right bets in the right places—by category, channel, and moment—while maintaining the discipline and agility that power our test-and-iterate model as the business scales. What You’ll Do: Lead the Merchandising Strategy & Planning Function Own and evolve the end-to-end planning function, ensuring planning is a true strategic partner to Merchandising and Buying rather than a downstream inventory executor. Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of planners who think holistically about assortment, investment, and risk across channels. Establish a culture of curiosity, accountability, and fast, disciplined decision-making within the team. Own Category, Assortment & Investment Strategy Partner with Merchandising and Buying to shape seasonal and annual assortment strategies, including depth, breadth, and mix by category and channel. Shape category architecture and the resulting assortment mix—including fabric and silhouette mix—as a direct output of category and assortment planning. Lead investment planning by buy type (core, seasonal, newness, fashion risk), ensuring dollars are intentionally allocated in line with brand and growth priorities. Translate merchandise vision into actionable receipt plans, balancing innovation with proven programs and financial targets. Guide decisions on where and when to place receipts across channels to maximize impact, flexibility, and speed to customer. Own Financial Plans, OTB & Margin Develop and own merchandise financial plans and open-to-buy that align topline sales, margin, and inventory-productivity goals. Own gross margin end to end—effectively balancing IMU and full-price sell-through to achieve targets. Proactively own and drive full-price sell-through performance by identifying opportunities, developing solutions, and leading the implementation of actions and process changes to improve results. Own markdown strategy—timing, depth, and cadence—to protect margin and clear efficiently. Protect in-season open-to-buy liquidity so there is always capital to chase proven winners. Partner closely with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure plans are executable and appropriately risk-balanced. Enable Omni-Channel Planning Take an omni-channel view of assortment and investment, ensuring cohesive strategies across e-commerce, retail, and wholesale while allowing for channel-specific nuances. Leverage all channels (direct, wholesale, offprice) to both maximize in-stock and minimize inventory risk (e.g., pooled replenishment stock). Power the Test-and-Iterate Model with Data Leverage historical performance, test-and-learn data, and real-time reads to inform assortment decisions and adjust investment dynamically (e.g., recuts). Own the in-season read and chase economics that let us start small and chase big—concentrating investment into proven winners and exiting non-performers fast. Provide clear, actionable insights to Merchandising leadership around what’s working, where to lean in, and where to pull back. Develop planning narratives that connect data to strategy and decision-making. Evolve Planning Tools, Systems & Process Continuously evolve planning tools, frameworks, and ways of working—including analytics and automation—to support faster decision-making and greater strategic impact. Help define how planning interfaces with Merchandising, Buying, and Supply Chain as the business scales. Champion clarity and simplicity in planning outputs so insights are easily understood and acted upon. What You’ll Need: 10–15+ years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning, or related roles within retail or e-commerce, including senior people-leadership experience. Proven experience partnering closely with Merchandising and Buying teams to shape assortment and investment strategies. Strong command of buy-type architecture, assortment construction, open-to-buy, and risk allocation. Demonstrated ownership of gross margin, full-price sell-through, and markdown performance. Experience operating in a fast-cadence, test-and-react or chase/recut model. Strategic mindset with the ability to zoom out to category and business-level decisions while still grounding plans in data. Excellent analytical and storytelling skills—able to translate complex data into clear recommendations. A strong systems and tools orientation, with proficiency in planning systems, analytics tools, and financial modeling. Demonstrated people-leadership experience, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Compensation: At Reformation, we believe in transparency and equity when it comes to compensation. For this role, the anticipated base salary range is $175,000 to $220,000 base salary plus bonus eligibility, depending on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal compensation equity. This role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a range of factors, including company performance, department goals, and individual contributions. Bonus amounts and eligibility are not guaranteed and are determined at the company’s discretion. Please note that compensation decisions are made thoughtfully and may vary from the listed range to reflect individual circumstances and evolving business needs. Our total rewards package also includes benefits, perks, and opportunities for growth that contribute to overall compensation. We offer competitive paid time off policies including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays for eligible employees. We offer retirement planning support for eligible employees, including the option to invest in Environmental Social Governance-aligned (fancy way to say sustainable) funds. We’re a mission-based company with offices in LA, NYC and London, as well as a global retail team, which means you’ll get to collaborate with people all around the world. You’ll get access to fertility care support through Carrot, and up to a $5,000 USD reimbursement for related fertility expenses after 1 year of employment. We care about the causes our employees care about so we donate to community efforts on a yearly basis. We offer a clothing discount, culture events (like our annual Ref Values week and Volunteer Time Off), you know, all the meaningful and fun stuff! Reformation is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the world we want to live in. All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status—in accordance with applicable international, federal, state, and local laws. At Reformation, we’re all about growth, not gatekeeping. If you’re passionate about the role and excited about making fashion more sustainable, we’d love to hear from you. The company is growing rapidly and serving more places around the world than ever before. We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals who want to make an IMPACT every day to help us execute on our mission of reshaping the world of time-critical logistics. Be the Team’s Deepest Problem-Solver Every ops floor needs a small number of people who can be handed the hardest problem in the queue and trusted to get it right — balancing cost, speed, and customer impact without defaulting to escalation. As an Operations Specialist III, you’re that person for your team. You resolve what OS I and OS II can’t, you help the team solve it themselves next time, and you understand the business well enough to make the close calls — which carrier, which cost, which tradeoff — that protect both service quality and margin. For the rare issue that needs to be fielded by someone supporting Ops leadership and account managers directly, you know when to bring in an Ops Expert. What You’ll Do Must be able to perform all responsibilities included in the Operations Specialist II job description, in addition to the following: Resolve the Hardest Escalations Independently resolve all escalated issues using available resources with minimal to no assistance Assist in resolving team member escalations and questions Anticipate problems before they surface and act early Make the Margin and Cost Tradeoffs Understand margin versus total cost for an order and apply that knowledge to additional charge approvals Balance speed, cost, and customer impact when making big-picture decisions, without defaulting to escalation (e.g., choosing a carrier based on service reliability and error-rate history rather than the fastest or cheapest option alone) Maintain deep, practiced knowledge of the trade, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to your assigned sector Set the Standard for the Team Serve as the go-to resource on sector-specific process nuance and edge cases within the team Flag SOP gaps and suggest improvements to your supervisor based on frontline experience Uphold team expectations by leading through example Maintain any certifications required for your assigned sector and stay current on related compliance requirements; assist teammates with related questions Maintain a Balanced Level of Performance As an OS III, you’ll be expected to maintain minimal to no errors or service failures, make sound decisions under pressure, and meet the customer service standards appropriate for this level. Specific metrics vary by sector and will be communicated by your direct reporting supervisor. Requirements Demonstrated success as an Operations Specialist II, or equivalent experience independently resolving complex, time-critical logistics escalations Working knowledge of margin and cost tradeoffs, and comfort applying that knowledge to real-time approval decisions Deep, near-expert familiarity with the trade, regulatory, and compliance requirements relevant to your sector Track record of coaching or supporting less-tenured teammates through difficult issues Sound judgment under pressure, with a track record of getting ahead of problems rather than reacting to them Willingness to obtain additional certifications, where applicable within your sector Available for 2 weeks of training in person on-site in our Carlsbad, CA headquarters Advancement to Ops Expert Ops Expert is a step up in scope, not just tenure: it moves from executing within your sector to being the escalation point leadership and account managers turn to directly, with elevated coaching and live-operations responsibility. To advance, you’ll need to demonstrate all of the following: Minimum of 9-12 months in the OS III role Consistently meeting or exceeding OS III performance standards, tracked through ongoing 1:1 check-ins and confirmed across two consecutive Semi-Annual Reviews (SARs) Demonstrated ability to guide teammates in real time — catching and correcting issues as they happen, not just after the fact Working familiarity with monitoring and resourcing tools (e.g., Zendesk, Twilio, live dashboards) beyond your own queue Willingness to obtain additional certifications required for the Expert tier, where applicable, in addition to your existing sector certifications Manager recommendation, confirming readiness to operate as the sector’s top escalation resource and take on informal team-leadership responsibility Compensation Hourly pay range: $26-30/hr High-quality health, vision, and dental care plan options 401K company contribution program Professional learning and training reimbursements Core Values: We are One Team. We believe we all accomplish more when we are working together. We make an Impact. We are determined to have a positive influence on our environment, our customers, our industry, and our world. We are Passionate. We care deeply about our mission and are not afraid to raise the bar. We are Transparent. We pride ourselves on having open, honest, and sincere communication with our team and customers. We are Innovative. We never settle and are always striving to improve our product, service, and ourselves. Airspace is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. We do not discriminate based upon race, religion, color, national origin, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, status as a protected veteran, status as an individual with a disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics. Additionally, Airspace participates in the E-Verify program for all locations. A friendly reminder: Airspace will only contact candidates from an @airspace.com email, a no-reply notification from no-reply@us.greenhouse-mail.io, or a verified LinkedIn profile. • Staff Software Engineer at Beacon Biosignals

    Beacon Biosignals

Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain, from clinical development to clinical care. For Life Sciences partners, we offer the leading at-home EEG platform for clinical development of novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders. Our Diagnostics business is building the most comprehensive at-home platform for precision diagnostics, combining EEG and cardiopulmonary signals to deliver reimbursable assessments for sleep and central nervous system disorders. Together, we’re changing the way patients are diagnosed and treated for any disorder that affects brain physiology. Beacon Biosignals is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Datastore team. The Datastore sits at the heart of Beacon’s platform. It defines our foundational data model and serves as the centralized repository and API for brain data collected from clinical studies, supporting the analytical tools, services, and applications used by our scientists, clinicians, and partners. This role emphasizes the design and scaling of backend systems for data infrastructure: PostgreSQL data models, Kafka-driven event pipelines, and the GraphQL API that makes scientific and clinical data usable - distinct from frontend development or end-user product surfaces. At this level you will lead the design of complex systems within the Datastore rather than individual components, own the pipelines that deliver dataset snapshots into our warehouse, and collaborate across platform, application and scientific teams to implement APIs that unlock new workflows in Beacon’s expanding portfolio of clinical studies and digital health products. You should have experience writing complex SQL queries by hand, and should be prepared to reason about schema design, indexes, and query behavior as a matter of course. Two properties of our system that shape our work may influence your application. Our GraphQL API is generated from the PostgreSQL schema using PostGraphile, so a schema decision is an API decision. Secondly, row-level security is in force on effectively every table, because clinical data from different studies and partners shares one schema, with some rows shared for access by multiple internal teams. RLS predicates get injected into your queries, which makes reasoning about query plans genuinely harder here than it is in most places. If that sounds interesting rather than tedious, you’ll enjoy this team. We are hiring two engineers into this role, with two different centers of gravity. One will focus on the breadth of the Datastore: the event pipelines, the GraphQL API, core data models, and third-party integrations. The other will focus on depth in PostgreSQL (data modeling, performance tuning, operations) and supporting all engineers in developing schemas and the access controls that protect clinical data. The core requirements are the same. Tell us which one you are most drawn to in your application. This role is 100% remote from anywhere in the U.S. Beacon’s robust asynchronous work practices ensure a first-class remote work experience, but we also have in-person office hubs in Boston, New York City, and Paris. What success looks like You lead design and architecture for complex projects and systems within the Datastore, weighing implementation trade-offs with engineering principles and backing your decisions with data rather than preference You partner with product managers, scientific and clinical stakeholders, and other development and support teams to translate their requirements into new integrations, services, and solutions for scaling Beacon’s data platform - contributing to broader product and technical decisions, not simply implementing them You debug and profile ambiguous problems that cross system boundaries, including codebases beyond the Datastore’s purview, and you leave what you touch better than you found it — structure, test coverage, tooling Peers look to your work as an example: you implement features with attention to detail, demonstrating product awareness and high standards for data integrity, design soundness, and maintainability across the lifespan of the system You draft RFCs to lead complex feature discovery and technical design phases, soliciting and incorporating input, and helping your team align on a set of decisions to guide development You plan your own work and contribute to planning the team’s, making reasoned trade-offs between speed, generalizability, and technical debt, and accounting for the needs of multiple stakeholder teams You teach and mentor other engineers regularly, give feedback that people act on, and are sought out for it. You may act as tech lead on a project or as the coordination point for engineering practice within the team You leverage feedback from internal stakeholders and external partners to improve operational robustness and ease of use of the Datastore and its services via new documentation, tools, and dashboards What you will bring 7+ years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years focused on data platforms and backend infrastructure for data-centric applications: transactional systems, event pipelines, and the APIs that serve them Highly proficient in at least one technical area relevant to this work: data modeling, distributed systems, API design, or database engineering, with the depth that others on a team come to you for Strong proficiency in SQL, with production experience working with PostgreSQL as an application database; you write and tune queries fluently and are comfortable reasoning about schema design, indexes, and query plans Hands-on experience with data streaming and event processing, using Kafka (our event bus) or an equivalent such as RabbitMQ, Pulsar, or a cloud-based equivalent like Amazon Kinesis Proficiency in Julia or Python; Julia is a core Datastore language, and experience with Julia is a strong plus, but not required — we welcome candidates eager to learn it! Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments, with familiarity in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and/or Helm A track record of mentoring engineers and improving how a team works - practices, tooling, test coverage, or documentation that outlasted your involvement A collaborative mindset: you enjoy working across disciplines and believe people achieve more together than alone Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in asynchronous and remote-friendly environments A self-directed approach, with a track record of thriving in hybrid or fully remote teams Experience with, or interest in, using LLM-assisted or agentic coding tools in a production setting, with good judgment about what guardrails are needed For the Datastore Systems role: You can lead design across the breadth of the platform. GraphQL and TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) - GraphQL is the Datastore’s primary interface, and this profile owns significant parts of it Designing event-driven pipelines end to end: producers, consumers, replay, idempotency, and what happens when a consumer falls behind Leading the design of complex systems rather than individual components, across the API, the pipelines, and the services that depend on them For the PostgreSQL & Data Modeling role: You can be the person the rest of the team comes to about the database. Deep PostgreSQL: you reason fluently about the query planner, index selection, and EXPLAIN (ANALYZE), and why a query that should be fast isn’t Data modeling: you design the schema itself: entities, relationships, and the constraints that make invalid states impossible. Including how to model time, since clinical results get re-scored and corrected and we need to answer “what did this look like when the report was signed?” Schema evolution under load: zero-downtime migrations, dual-write transitions, lock avoidance, backfill and verification. Our schema has hundreds of migrations behind it and will have hundreds more Operating PostgreSQL in production, not only designing for it: upgrades, replication, backup and restore, connection pooling, bloat and vacuum behaviour, extensions Making others good at it: you teach, review, and document, because a schema only stays coherent if the team understands it We don’t expect every candidate to check every box. If you bring strong fundamentals, care about data infrastructure for health, and are excited to learn, we’d love to hear from you! The US-based salary range for this role is $170,000 – $190,000. Salary ranges are determined using current market compensation data for this role and adjusted based on experience, skills, and location. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes equity, PTO and other benefits. At Beacon, we’ve found that cultural and scientific impact is driven most by those that lead by example. As such, we’re always seeking new contributors whose work demonstrates an avid curiosity, a bias towards simplicity, an eye for composability, a self-service mindset, and - most of all - a deep empathy towards colleagues, stakeholders, users, and patients. We believe a diverse team builds more robust systems and achieves higher impact.
